About Truck Parking: Trailer Challenge
Truck Parking: Trailer Challenge is about the hardest manoeuvre in driving: reversing an articulated lorry. Each task starts with a cab in a busy freight yard and a trailer waiting somewhere nearby. You follow the route, back up to the hitch, connect the trailer and then guide the whole rig into a green bay without hitting the containers stacked all around.
The developer, KreizLand, gives you the tools you need. You can orbit the camera, zoom in and out and switch views, and the garage lets you unlock new trucks and change their appearance as you earn coins and stars.
How to play Truck Parking
The garage
The first screen shows your truck, a cab-over six-by-four, under a spotlight. Arrows switch trucks, Customize changes the paint and Upgrade improves performance. Play loads the next task.
Driving the rig
On a computer, use W, A, S and D or the arrow keys to steer, accelerate, brake and reverse, or drag the on-screen joystick. On a phone, the joystick and pedals do the same. A timer and coin total sit at the top of the screen.
Hitching the trailer
On trailer levels, reverse slowly towards the front of the trailer. When the truck lines up with the hitch, the trailer connects.
Parking
Drive the truck and trailer into the marked bay, stop inside it and hold still until the parking countdown ends. Complete the task before the timer runs out and without too many collisions.
Tips for reversing a trailer
- Steer the opposite way. When reversing, turn the wheel the opposite way to where you want the trailer to go.
- Make small corrections. A trailer reacts slowly, then all at once.
- Use the camera. Orbiting to a side view makes the angle between cab and trailer obvious.
- Pull forward to reset. If the angle gets too sharp, drive forward a little to straighten up.
- Ignore the clock at first. Learning the movement matters more than speed.
Your first task
The first task is a gentle introduction: a short route, a wide bay and plenty of time. Use it to practise the hardest skill, reversing in a straight line, before you worry about the timer. Drive backwards slowly and watch the angle between cab and trailer. If the trailer starts to fold, stop, pull forward and try again.
Choosing a truck
New trucks unlock as you earn coins. A truck with better handling makes the tighter yards less stressful.
