About Car Escape Parking
Car Escape Parking is a parking jam puzzle in a cheerful small town. Each level is a little walled car park packed with grey cars, often with a brighter car stuck somewhere in the middle. There is only one gap in the wall, and every car has to leave through it. The cars can only roll forwards or backwards along the way they are facing, so the whole puzzle is about choosing the right order.
The developer, John Hany, keeps the presentation clean. Level 1 opens with a big Tap to Play card, the level number sits at the top of the screen and there is nothing else to distract you from the layout.
How to play Car Escape Parking
Starting a level
Tap to play and the board appears. Take a moment to see which cars face the exit and which are trapped behind others.
Moving the cars
Drag a car forwards or backwards to slide it. If the way is clear, it rolls out through the gap and leaves the car park. If another car or an obstacle is in the way, it stops, which can make the jam worse.
Winning
Empty the car park to complete the level. Later levels add more cars, tighter spaces and new layouts.
Tips for emptying the car park
- Start with the free cars. Any car with a clear line to the exit is a safe first move.
- Work backwards from the trapped car. Ask which cars must move before it can leave.
- Count the gaps. A car can only move as far as the next obstacle, so check the space before you swipe.
- Do not rush the last few cars. The final moves are often the trickiest, because they rely on space you created earlier.
- Restart rather than untangle. If you are blocked, a fresh start is usually quicker.
A relaxing kind of parking game
Unlike our driving-based parking games, there is no timer pressure and no steering. That makes Car Escape Parking a good choice for winding down, for younger players and for anyone on a phone. It is also a nice contrast to the driving skill needed in games like Car Parking Simulator.
Your first levels
The first levels show only a handful of cars, and one or two can usually leave immediately. Use them to learn how far a car slides before it stops, and how the exit gap works. By the time the car park is full, you will already have a feel for which cars to move first.
