About Slide To Ride

Slide To Ride is a top-down time-trial game where the clock is your only opponent. Each of its 40 tracks is a short loop of tight corners laid out on a bright tiled background, and your goal is to get round as fast as possible. The faster you go, the more stars you earn, and the platinum time on each track is there for players who want to squeeze out the last tenth.

The game comes from One More Game, and its control idea is unusual: instead of pressing left and right, you steer by pointing. The car heads towards your cursor, and holding the button pulls the handbrake so the rear slides out. Getting those two inputs to work together is the whole skill.

How to play Slide To Ride

The main menu has a large Play button, plus Levels, Garage, a trophy screen and settings. A star counter shows how many of the available stars you have collected. A banner advert sits at the side of the screen; it stays during play but does not cover the track.

Starting a track

Each level opens with a card showing the three star times. Move the cursor to start, and the timer begins counting. Restart and Reset keys are shown at the bottom of the screen.

Steering and drifting

Move the mouse and the car turns towards the pointer. Hold the mouse button or Space to drift: the rear slides, the car rotates faster and you can carry speed through a hairpin that would otherwise force you to slow down. On a phone, drag your finger to steer.

Coins and cars

Coins collected on the tracks unlock new cars in the garage.

Tips for faster times

  • Point ahead of the car. Aiming the cursor at the corner exit, not the apex, gives smoother lines.
  • Short drifts win. A long handbrake slide scrubs off speed; a quick tap rotates the car and keeps momentum.
  • Master tracks one by one. Repeating a level until the line feels natural is faster than moving on early.
  • Chase stars before platinum. Three stars on every track builds the feel you need for the hardest times.

Common mistakes

Many players hold the handbrake for the whole corner, which turns a quick slide into a slow spin. Another is moving the cursor in sharp jumps: the car tries to follow and ends up zigzagging. Keep the pointer moving in smooth arcs, a little ahead of the car, and use the handbrake only for the tightest bends.

Who will enjoy Slide To Ride

It is a great fit for players who enjoy short, repeatable challenges. For another top-down drift with a twist, try Driftbound, or switch to a one-button challenge in Drift Master. More ideas are waiting in our drifting games.

Slide To Ride FAQ

How do you steer in Slide To Ride?

On a computer, the car follows your mouse cursor. Holding the mouse button or Space applies the handbrake so the car slides through the corner.

How many tracks are there?

The developer lists 40 tracks. Each one has three star times plus a platinum target for players who want a real challenge.

Is there an advert on screen while I play?

Yes, a small banner sits at the side of the screen on menus and during play. It does not interrupt the race.
