About Mr. Drifter: Car Chase Simulator
Mr. Drifter: Car Chase Simulator is an endless police chase seen from a tilted top-down camera. You start in a quiet low-poly city of cafes, crossings and wide junctions, and the moment you accelerate, the police start to follow. From then on the rule is simple: keep moving and do not get caught.
Beru Games, the studio behind it, built the game around sliding. Junctions are where you lose or gain ground, and a well-timed drift round a corner is often the only thing that keeps the police from boxing you in. Destruction is cartoonish: obstacles and roadblocks break apart, but there is nothing graphic.
How to play Mr. Drifter
Starting a chase
The home screen shows the city with buttons for the garage, achievements, stats and options. Click to play, then press a direction to set off. Distance appears at the top left, and a row of stars shows how much heat you have attracted.
Driving and drifting
Use W, A, S and D or the arrow keys. Turning at speed makes the car slide, which is how you take corners without losing momentum. Braking too hard lets the police catch up.
Power-ups
Power-ups appear on the road. The developer lists Slow-Mo, which gives you time to thread through gaps, Freeze, which stops the threat around you for a moment, and EMP blasts that knock out pursuers nearby.
Unlocking cars
Coins collected during runs are spent in the garage on new getaway cars, each with a slightly different feel.
Tips for staying free
- Plan the next junction. Knowing which way you will turn lets you start the slide early.
- Use wide roads. Narrow streets leave no room to swerve around a roadblock.
- Save Slow-Mo. It is most useful when traffic and police arrive at the same time.
- Do not stop to collect. A coin is not worth a full stop with the police behind you.
- Restart quickly. Runs are short, and each one teaches you a little more about the map.
Common mistakes
New players often brake at every junction, which lets the police close in. The car is built to slide, so a lift off the accelerator and a firm turn is usually enough. Another mistake is driving into dead ends while looking at the police behind you rather than the road ahead. Keep your eyes forward and let the sound of the sirens tell you how close they are.
Age suitability
The style is cartoonish and low-poly. Cars and roadblocks break apart, but there are no people hurt and nothing graphic, so it suits teenagers and older children comfortable with a fast pace.
Who will enjoy Mr. Drifter
Mr. Drifter suits players who enjoy chaotic score-chasing. Its sister game, Mr Reckless: Car Chase Simulator, offers a more traffic-focused escape, while Police Drift Escape moves the chase to an open arena. See every chase in our drifting games.
