About Offroad Jeep Driving: Mountain Climb
Offroad Jeep Driving: Mountain Climb is about getting a 4x4 over ground that a normal car could never handle. The first level drops you behind a grey jeep at a chequered start gate in a red desert canyon, with wooden fences on either side, a cactus by the track and a ram's skull among the rocks. A timer and a coin counter sit at the top of the screen, and the road ahead climbs into the canyon.
CodesXpirit, the studio behind City Bus Simulator, lists a wide range of terrain: steep mountain roads, mud, snow and huge ramps. Each level is a self-contained course with checkpoints, and coins collected along the way pay for new vehicles and upgrades.
How to play Offroad Jeep Driving
Straight into the first level
There is no long menu. After the opening advert, the first level loads and the clock starts. Settings, pause and Skip Level sit at the top right.
Controls
On a computer, accelerate with W or the Up arrow, steer with A and D or Left and Right, and brake with S, the Down arrow or Space. P pauses, E opens settings and N skips the level. The developer also provides left, right, race and brake buttons for touch screens.
Checkpoints and coins
Each course has checkpoints. Drive through them in order and keep an eye on the timer. Coins along the track add to your total.
Upgrades
Spend coins to unlock new jeeps, SUVs and trucks, or to upgrade the one you have. Better grip and power make the steeper courses easier.
Tips for climbing
- Go slower on rough ground. Hitting rocks at speed bounces the jeep off line.
- Keep the wheels straight on steep climbs. Turning on a slope is the quickest way to roll over.
- Brake before narrow bridges. Wooden sections leave little room for mistakes.
- Collect coins only when safe. The timer matters more than the last few coins.
- Use Skip Level sparingly. It is there if a course defeats you, but each level teaches a skill the next one needs.
Your first level
The canyon level is a good introduction to the handling. Drive through the start gate at a moderate speed, notice how the jeep bounces over small rocks and how it slides on loose sand, and pick a line that avoids the biggest bumps. Once you have finished it, the later mud and snow courses will feel less surprising.
Choosing a vehicle
Heavier trucks are steadier on rough ground, while lighter jeeps turn more quickly. Try both before spending coins on upgrades.
